Here is a list of the events that have been confirmed so far. They appear in date order.

  • Monday 20th November

North Devon’s annual petal scattering (in memory of those who had died as a result of Domestic Violence. FREE 10:45 for 11am. The square, Barnstable.  Followed by NDADA AGM at Tea on the Taw at 12noon (coffee tea and light snacks provided).

  • Saturday 25th November

Tell someone it is the International Day of the Elimination of Violence Against Women (IDEVAW).
Sign the Pledge: ‘Never to commit condone or remain silent about men’s violence against women in all its forms’. This is part of the white ribbon campaign.

  • Saturday 25th November

Meet your neighbours and spend a morning stitching for peace.
Join local artists in developing a new skill or exploring mindfulness while stitching. Contribute to a piece of art work that will then be displayed locally to promote Cranbrook as a place of peace & raise awareness of the issues surrounding Domestic Abuse.

Go and visit an art exhibition called ‘Strong Women’.
View work by Bev Samler & Catherine Cartwright. Exploring the resilience of women through painting and printmaking.

Coming back!! Tell a tale and find your funny

Laughing helps us mend. This session with comedy coach Dr Maggie Irving will provide comedy strategies to help us heal.

Attend a ‘Resilient Women’ Drop in
All women are welcome to find out more about resilience and what keeps us strong. With a host of agencies/information & also delicious homemade cupcakes

An informal opportunity to meet the exhibiting artists of the ‘Strong Women’ exhibition. Ask them questions about their work.

Attend a Bystander Intervention talk
An engaging and informative talk by Dr Rachel Fenton about the Intervention initiative – a bystander intervention programme commissioned by Public Health England. Learn about this preventative work to interrupt domestic and sexual violence. Get some tips on how you can intervene in your own community.

Join the Reclaim the Night event in Exeter
Gather for a march and rally. Be part of the buzz and walk the streets claiming the right for all to feel safe in public spaces. Arrive early for banner making and free food (from 4pm).

Wear your PJ’s to work or school.

Attend a health and wellbeing day.
With a focus on women’s health, join a yoga, shiatsu or art workshop, get a hand massage, learn about family law & legal aid. Creche. Bring and share lunch.
FREE. 10:30-3pm. St Sidwell’s community centre, Exeter. No need to book.

Have your say… …. & get your voice heard
A Confidence workshop for women on speaking out (about any issue, hobby, concern you wish). The workshop prepares you to have your say on a live or pre-recorded radio interview.

Listen to the Radio & celebrate confident women speaking up
There will be a number of interviews on the breakfast & morning shows with women who have attended a confidence workshop. Tune in and hear what they have to say on a range of topics.

Enjoy a tea or coffee and a piece of cake – for charity
Join the Family Law Company at a ‘Cream Tea’ Fundraiser in support of our local Domestic Abuse support agencies.

NEW EVENT Join SAFE Services for the launch of ‘Allies Against Abuse’ NEW EVENT

SAFE (Stop Abuse For Everyone) understand that most men do not use or condone violence and that boys and men have much to gain from gender equality. Join them at the city gate Hotel this event to hear about their work with boys and men to prevent male violence.
